Warehousing and Distribution Centres

Our team has a successful record of performance improvement in the competitive, high volume, low margin Warehousing & DC segment. Some of our work to date is listed below:

Logistics operation of a motor vehicle manufacturer

  • Identified system/process deficiencies with new TNT warehouse facility in Dandenong. Utilised "gap analysis" techniques to identify sub-optimal business processes. (Vlado Baban)

Large distribution specialists

  • Direct customer experiencing poor pick accuracy & efficiency. Redesign warehouse footprint, segregate products by size and speed of movement, and introduce visual management tools to improve pick accuracy and efficiency. (Vlado Baban)

Consumer goods manufacturer

  • Warehouse and distribution costs exceeding budget, poor space utilisation, poor efficiency in comparison with industry benchmarks . Conducted strategic review of supply chain, refocus business on core activities and outsource distribution function to 3PL provider. (Vlado Baban)

Multinational Oil company

  • Identified integration synergies from recent business acquisition. Conducted product profitability analysis (revenue, cost, value, complexity); rationalise/ optimise product range and integrate into the supply chain; decommission national warehouse/distribution network. (Vlado Baban)

Aluminium products manufacturer

  • Warehouse and cross docking function had been relocated into a purpose built facility but processes and structure were lacking resulting in significant delivery problems. Redesigned warehouse layout and process flow and segregated products by speed of movement, introduced KPIs, defined roles and responsibilities and introduced visual management tools to improve pick accuracy and efficiency. (Robin Power)

Korean vehicle importer

  • Recent withdrawal of Daewoo brand from local market necessitated a review of supply chain integration and consolidation opportunities into Parent Company supply network. Consolidated/decommissioned national warehouse and distribution network into Parent Companys existing supply infrastructure and business process. (Vlado Baban)

Swedish vehicle importer

  • Poor transactional visibility within warehouse, lack of real-time information and poor space utilisation. Presented cost/benefit of alternate performance improvement options to management; consolidate warehouse operation into Parent Companys existing supply infrastructure and business process. (Vlado Baban)
